"Fantasy Island" was a one-hour television program which ran on the ABC television network from 1977 to 1984.

Fantasy Island was located somewhere in the Caribbean region. It was a resort run by the mysterious Mr. Roarke assisted by Tattoo, a little person. Guests could request to live out fantasies some of which were dangerous. When an airplane brought new guests to the island Tattoo would shout "De plane! De plane!"

This episode is actually titled "Treasure Hunt / Beauty Contest" and was first broadcast on March 11, 1978.

Stu Chambers and James Defoe are partners in a business. They have come to the Island with Stu's wife Andrea to hunt for a legendary pirate's treasure. A second non-numismatic story is about a young girl, Sally Quinn, who enters a beauty contest to impress her father, Neville Quinn, whose deceased wife was a contest winner.

The three explorers find a traditional pirate treasure chest filled with jewelry and Spanish doubloons. The doubloons are are realistic looking prop coins based on Spanish bust doubloon designs.
